Design explanatory statement

Near the center, in a park-like environment are a museum, the library, and the cultural center. In this series of striking buildings, a place has been created for the next striking building. A new apartment complex (Woonkeur) with shops. The careful integration into the park and connection to the existing buildings is an important point of attention. For example, different building heights have been chosen. Higher on the park side, lower on the center side. There is also variation in horizontal and vertical articulation, the balconies accentuate the horizontality. The vertical slots that run across the floors are the verticality. The top layer will have an airy green crown, in line with the park-like surroundings. The variety makes it, an eye-catching building. Modest but quirky.
